The Logistics Department of JiLin university published a notice that ” no dig wild herbs and no reclaim land relational area ” on the campus net on May 3 2012. The published notice stipulated that any violation shall make repairs immediately and bear the compensation accordingly. This paper I prepare to publish my own point about the behavior of digging wild herbs on the campus. I think there are two reasons shall let us know it is not right to do it.
One is the environmental protection. The green belt is beautiful scenery on the campus, and was not build in a day nor in a year (parody—Rome was not build in a day, nor in a year). There is a staff of special persons who maintain and manage the green belt in our school. Once discovered, they will renew the damaged green belt as soon as possible. The damaged green belt just has been renewed, but has damaged again and again, and cost a fantastic amount of money every year. If we want to change the situation that dig wild herbs randomly and reclaim land on the campus, rely on the Logistics Department of Jilin University is not enough. The plant love the campus (Personification), everyone that lived here should be consciously safeguards the green belt on the campus. Since then we will have a clear and clean campus, and the green belt will nod to us when we passed (Personification).
The other is health. With the continuous improvement of people's health care knowledge, people like to choose the green natural food to eat. So when spring comes, we can find some people dig wild herbs in our school, even some of them are students or teachers. They think the wild herbs are delicious, highly nutritious and it can prevent many diseases. However, in my view, it’s not a good idea to dig wild herbs on the campus. Above all, the wild herbs look like green and glassy on the green belt in our school, but in reality the Logistics Department protect against insects and disease by sprinkle pesticide regularly. So the wild herbs will be contaminated by the pesticide residues, and be harmful to people’s health. Secondly, the green belts on the campus always distributed near the road, and polluted by the exhaust gas from cars for a long time. Finally, there are so many kinds of wild herbs; some of the non-edible wild herbs appear similar to some edible wild herbs. So the non-edible wild herbs are susceptible to be eating, and resulting in poisoning.
From what has been discussed above, we can see that dig wild herbs on the campus is not useful to the greening in our school, but also is liable to cause food poisoning. I think we will never ever do it again from now on (rhyme??).
