【题型特点】
短文改错属于英语写作的考查范畴。试题给出一篇约100个单词的短文，文中有10处错误，错误类型包括词法、句法、行文逻辑等，要求考生对每个句子进行判断，如有错即将其改正。
该题型考查考生的阅读理解能力，运用所学语言知识发现、判断、改正错误的能力及考生在词法、句法、惯用法和行文逻辑等方面灵活运用语言知识的能力。
命题形式涉及错词、多词和少词，比例一般为8:1:1。
【失分原因】
（1）基础语法掌握不牢，缺乏感知语言正误的能力，发现不了错误。
（2）不了解语言表达的多样性，把原本正确的地方改错。
（3）对常用句式积累不够。
（4）句子结构分析能力欠缺。
（5）答题不规范，不按做题指令答题，改错符号不正确，直接在题的上方写答案。
【解题策略】
1. 看结构，查成分 清楚英语句子的基本句型，根据句型查看句子成分是否齐全及主谓宾是否有误。
2. 分析句子结构 一看主谓关系，查谓语动词单复数及动词语态是否正确；二看动作与时间的关系，查时态是否正确；三看动宾关系，查动词后面是否需要带介词；四看主语与表语的关系，查表语是否正确说明了主语；五看作非谓语的动词与其逻辑主语的关系，查非谓语动词形式是否正确；六看名词单复数是否正确；七看动副关系，查动词的修饰语是否为副词。
3. 看语意，查搭配 根据句子意思，一查“介词+名词”中介词是否正确；二查“动词+介词/副词”中介词或副词是否正确；三查代词的数和格是否正确；四查冠词是否正确。
4. 看修饰语，查逻辑 如“In the summer holiday following my eighteen birthday...”,其中的birthday意为“生日”，其前用序数词eighteenth才指十八岁生日。
5. 看逻辑，查连接 句子之间用连接词表达一定的逻辑关系，然而短文中常出现连接词用错、逻辑不通的情况，主要体现在：知识性错误，如连接词误用；介词（in,except除外）后面一般不接that从句，though/although不与but连用，because不与so连用等。
【技巧点拨】
1.对全文的宏观把握
把改错内容当作一篇小短文来理解，这样能对短文有个宏观把握，对上下文有全面的了解。在理解篇章的基础上逐句审读，分析判断，上下兼顾，把明显的、拿的准的题先做完，这样可以缩小包围圈，也有助于对全文的进一步理解。
2. 注意十大常见错误
短文改错是有一定的规律可循的，观察近几年的高考试题以及同学们平常的各种考试，可以发现短文改错主要有以下十大错误：
（1） 形容词与副词的误用。如exciting与excited，hard与hardly，possible与possibly，here与there等，以及形容词与副词的比较级与最高级。
（2） 名词的单复数误用。如在several，many，various，different，a few，one of等之后，常用名词的复数，在every与each之后常用单数。
（3） 代词的误用。如you与your，it’s与its，it与they或them，one与ones，宾格（如me）与反身代词（如myself）等的误用。
（4） 介词的误用、缺少或多余。常见的如in 与on，to与for，instead与instead of，because与because of等的误用。
（5） 时态的错误。一篇文章，要有一种大局观，看看上下文的时态是否一致。
（6） 连词的误用。如or与and的误用，and与but的误用，so与but的误用，because或since与so连用，though与but连用等。
（7） 第三人称单数后的动词形式。
（8） 一些固定结构的误用。如so...that被误用作very...that，too...to被误用very...to，as...as被误作so...as等。
（9） 定语从句中关系词的误用。
（10） 一些常用词的误用。如what与how，except与besides，any与some以及它们的合成词如anything与something，anywhere与somewhere等混淆不清。
