A moment of silence was held in memory of David Hay and Marjorie (Marge) Claus.
David Hay was hired on February 23, 2004, as a Custodial and Grounds worker at Sonora High School. Mr. Hay started working in November, 1999, as a substitute custodian prior to being hired in a permanent position. Mr. Hay was a current employee of the District and he passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2010. The District was informed of David Hay’s passing by his mother, Victoria Hay, a retired District Bus Driver. A memorial service was held on Thursday, February 4, 2010, at Memory Gardens Park in Brea.
Marge Claus was hired as a Business Education teacher in 1961. Mrs. Claus taught at Lowell High School for 19 years. Due to Lowell’s closure, the balance of Mrs. Claus’s tenure was at La Habra High School. In June, 1983, Mrs. Claus re-tired after 22 years of service. The District was recently informed that Marge Claus passed away on January 5, 2010, in Illinois where a memorial service was held for family members.
Sympathy and support were offered to the families and friends of David Hay and Marjorie Claus.
