device.SOLUTION: A cylindrical lithium ion secondary battery is disclosed according to thepresent invention, which comprises: a cylindrical can; an electrode assembly enclosed inthe cylindrical can together with an electrolytic solution; and a cap assembly for sealingthe cylindrical can. The cap assembly includes: a positive temperature device connectedto the electrode assembly; a cap-up connected to the positive temperature device; and asolder interposed between the positive temperature device and the cap-up. Thecylindrical lithium ion secondary battery further comprises: an outer space part aroundperipheral parts of the positive temperature device and cap-up, where no solder isformed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
