Dear Li Ming, Thanks for your letter. My dream is to be a voluntary(志愿者) doctor. But my parents don’t agree with me. They think the job will sometimes be very different. Techeng Island（特呈岛）lies in the southeast of Zhanjiang. The villagers there used to make a living by fishing. But now, most of them make much money by doing business. They believe that their island is a gift from nature and they give thanks to it evry day. In 2003, P resident Hu Jintao came to visit the island and pointed out that the government of Zhanjiang should take the island into a “civilized new eco-tourism island”（文明生态旅游新海岛）. Since then, the island has opened a new page in history.
Today, the island has become a popular place for tourists. It takes you about 15 minutes to get there by boat from Maxie Pier（码头） near Haibin Park. But it is a just 8-minute boat ride from Zhanjiang Port Pier. In the resort（度假村）, you can not only enjoy the fantastic sights but also have a lot of interesting things to do, like walking on the beach, visiting the museum and enjoying the delicious seafood. The best way to relax yourself is to enjoy the hot spring（温泉） there. Welcome to Techeng Island ! It’s a place to be!

When I was a boy, I was a football fan. I always played football with some other boys in
backyard（后院） all the time. My mom was worried that I would get ill in the hot summer.
One day my brother gave me a new football. I came into the yard and played in excitedly. But suddenly, the ball flew through the window and nearly hit my dad. Dad said nothing. He took my football and cut it in half.

The life of the animals in the zoo is different from that in the wildlife park.
In the zoo, most of the animals are very sad. They have to stay in cages all day and wait for the zoo keepers to feed them. They can’t go out of the cages, so they have to walk round an round.
However, the wildlife park is a good place for them. All the animals there live in the open air. They can run, jump and play happily, and look for food by themselves. They are protected there
because people are not allowed to hunt. The most important thing is that they are free and happy in the wildlife park.
