This day the paradise of f. Scott Fitzgerald depicts the first world war, the sun and the youth of the moral life is increased by Ernest Hemingway in the 1920 s, a group of foreign people in the United States in Europe. 2. American Dream and its Disillusionment 2.1 The American Dream

2.1.1 The Definition of American Dream

The concept of the American dream is different, for different people, their understanding of the American dream and the pursuit of the American dream also each are not identical. The definition of the so-called American dream can distinguish

with narrow sense and narrow sense.Which means that all the people in the United States, if you work hard。

In this term, the American dream is the first in his book \"American\" 1931, James Traus Adams wrote. He said: \"the American dream is a dream place, life should be better, European society fully explained that many of us are tired, don't believe it. Every men and women can achieve their maximum body instinct, can be achieved, and recognition from others, no matter how they were born or occasionally positioning.

2.1.2 The Essence of American Dream

American dreamnamely through hard work and struggle, can obtain a better life. The American dream has a few elements: the United States to provide equal opportunity for everyone; Their talent and hard work is build on the foundation of success, rather than the background extraction; Each life is equal to; Everyone has his own right to success.

In short, the main content of American culture is to emphasize individual value, optimistic, fighting for democracy and freedom, promote deportation and competition and the need of reality and reality. Everyone has a common truth that everyone has an American dream, the desire to achieve it, everyone has an American dream, this is a good opportunity to make my dream come true.

2.2 Disillusionment of American Dream Reflected in the Novel 2.2.1 Gatsby’s American Dream

Gage than trying to realize their American dream, let him at the beginning of the new initiatives already know the love of Daisy Buchanan. He made a Daisy asked him to do everything. No one can do it for a reason. In order to win Daisy, gatsby dares to alcohol illegal trading, to earn wealth, because he knew he must provide a better life for Daisy, if he wants to win Daisy rich. Through his efforts, he really got a lot of money, although it is from illegal business.

Gatsby is his strong will, love and realize the goal of life is the great success of a huge wealth; He became the name of the society, deputy. Everyone is glad to come to his party, everyone is envious of his property, and everyone wants to be his friend, even Daisy has noticed him, and fell in love with him again. When he lost his own life to protect Daisy, gage ratio is also great.

The metamorphosis of his American dream, however, Daisy and her husband go to another city, but the gage than being shot, his huge improvement, no features. In other words, in the gates than the end of the American dream, is to win Daisy, is a

complete failure. \"(Yang Huiqun, 3)

In addition, when the gage is dead, there is no funeral for him, but hundreds of people to eat his place. This is a sad commentary on the human nature, when a person died, he is lonely, absolutely alone. The most sad thing is, Daisy, don't feel sorry or sad gates than death, her husband Tom travel. What gatsby. His life with his death, including his wealth and love. On the analysis of the \"American dream\" gage than will come to a conclusion, whether it is destroyed, and than the \"American dream\" is to make as much money, even through various illegal means, then he can achieve his ultimate goal of economic strength to win Daisy's love.

Gatsby's life in money and position, so he can reach a certain position in life, then he can win Daisy back. This is encouraged him to move to west egg, and with any necessary way to make money, everything held a lavish parties every weekend, Daisy asked him to do so. There is a place in life, he is eager to and will do all that you need in order to achieve the ultimate goal of it, his American dream is Daisy's love. If the gage than want to fall in love with Daisy, this is doomed to failure, always live together with her.

2.2.2 Nick Carraway’s American Dream

Nick Callaway is a representative of the traditional ethics in the United states. He's from the Midwest, trying to make money in Long Island. Because he was also attracted by the beauty, wealth, and complexity of the \"wasteland\he was, in any case, another dream seeker. However, as a witness to Gatsby's tragedy, he realized what had happened to the American dream. Because the traditional moral behavior rooted in him, he followed his father's tolerance advice, he never lost. Finally, he got the basic emptiness of the American dream, and realized Tom and Daisy's corruption, brutality and weak penetration. Nick is not quick to judge, so it is possible to get \"a lot of curious nature\" of Gatsby's world mainly in the three group of people, Nick contact them. So Nick's function in this book can never be ignored. He was there to give the reader an understanding of the role of the book from an objective point of view, and then a better understanding of Gatsby's idealized love and social reality. Nick and Gatsby appeared in the novel as a moral symbol: as a spiritual waste or waste of the entity, as a moral and spiritual growth of the hope of the spirit of Gatsby.

2.2.3 Tom, Daisy Buchanan and Jordan Baker’s American Dream

In this book, Compared with the gage than their natural wealth and status, but has no purpose. Daisy particularly illustrates this: \"we have to do this afternoon?\" Daisy asked. \"the next day, the next 30 years?\" (Fitzgerald, 1).

Daisy Buchanan, it is a dream, he wasted a rational dream. As don't expect the representative of the women who received a good education, work and development of the parasite. However, Daisy is a physical attraction, romantic and sentimental, but feel cold, devastating effect of her man. Her charm is a kind of attitude to life, not a quality of life.

Daisy's husband, Tom Buchanan is representative of the rulers and the representatives of the American idealistic moral wasteland. He told us all the great attitude, moral idealism is poor, is the origin of the weak, not force, he didn't consider the concept of any moral or personal loyalty, only his own physical drives and their own requirements.

Tom and Daisy Buchanan, around is not worried about any potential crisis, because they have no moral responsibility. No matter what happens, they will use to cover their own social status, refund my money, or let others to clean up their own mess.

In any case, Jordan Beck is not only a Daisy or Tom Buchanan, but moral desert animals. Dressed up like a \"cute\" girl \"white\always seems to be \"cool\" and transcendent, Jordan Beck in his own way an opportunist. As a 23-year-old woman golf champion, in the process of take part in the summer, Nick. She looks like \"incredible\" dishonest, but Nick found that Jordan is arrogant and careless, he found himself attracted her. Jordan, on the other hand, there are \"love\" Nick, because she felt Nick heart honesty and morality are determined, and realized that only when a Nick like this kind of people stay together, she can get rid of the chaos, to continue to their way.

3 The Cause of Disillusionment of American Dream 3.1 The Jazz Age and the Roaring Twenties

The spirit of the roaring '20 s is by modernity and discontinuity of general feeling, break the traditional. Everything seems to be feasible through modern technology. New technologies, especially cars, film and radio, increased the most of the population. Formal decorative lace in the daily life of the actual and architecture of beneficial. At the same time, jazz dance has become more and more popular in the ghost of the first world war. Therefore, this period is usually referred to as the jazz age.

5

An Analysis of Disillusionment of American Dream in The Great Gatsby

Jazz age, Malcolm Callie (Malcolm Cowley) said, \"not a flash legend, reckless and legend, such a talented person's age, like wild oats as radio.\" This is an \"American teenagers pain before the start of the story.\" Fitzgerald was \"more than 20 years old angel\" and his work a legend.

3.2 Social Environment and People factors

For gage than the collapse of the American dream, another reason may be the human factor. Gatsby is obsessed with love Daisy, this is really impressive, but he chose to pay for their love in the wrong object, Daisy is a secular, money worship, hedonism,. She can't hand in hand with gage than. She won't pay a high price for his ideal, to make great sacrifices. No true love in her life, but she can't live without money.

Gatsby's failure, to a certain extent, shows the collapse of the American dream, he is the embodiment of the American spirit of struggle, his failure is the decline of the American spirit of the declaration. His tragedy, because he has established the unreal dream more than reality, he is eager for success, but when he realized the dream of money, he was in the spirit of the crisis. He likes to escape rather than face bravely. Competition between Tom and gage than love is not only a battle between rival, but there are also two battle between different social class representative. So his failure is inevitable. Former lover, Nick and Jordan are the audience of the whole story, they witnessed the dirty history of evil. The height of the material prosperity brought a desolate and distorted soul, hidden in the carnival fun. The society as a whole is suffering from this kind of mental illness - there is no way out of loss and pain. Therefore, the collapse of the American dream has become a necessity.

Conclusion

In gathering information and completing this article, we can better understand, and gage than the development of love and dreams. Now, we not only can feel the same gates than complex and pessimistic life, also saw the inhuman and cruel society.

Through the novel, Fitzgerald shows the collapse of the disillusionment and people's dreams, both concepts, what kind of money, social status, or happiness. However, the most catastrophic collapse of the American dream itself. Here, the hero of the book, including Tom, Nick and Daisy gatsby, Jordan as metaphors of Fitzgerald, the paradox of the American dream: when the materialism and spiritual value of ascension, it only by its disciples confused. He also pointed out that because real life cannot be compared with the ideal of idealism, parallel the ideal to reality is usually too perfect. The collapse of the American dream is inevitable.

However, the novel is not only a criticism of the American dream money corruption. It is also a kind of moral values, requirements, and abandon materialism return to tradition. In addition, the narrator Nick Akrawi (Nick Carraway) good shelter for the degradation of the American dream. He is the voice of the morality and human nature of the novel, and the only one that records and measures of gage than unrealistic gap between dream and reality, which is based on the loss.

In short, the new \"great gage than\" Fitzgerald's masterpiece. From it, we can get some information about the author himself hidden information. Fitzgerald said that sometimes he doesn't know that he and his wife is true or just characters in his novels. In fact the novel ensures Fitzgerald as a serious and talented writer. In recent years, Tony Tanner says this is \"the most perfect novel.
