Fighting for the Certificates
Students graduating from college and entering the real world often encounter a hostile employment environment. Jobs can be difficult to acquire, especially when there is a lot of competition. Some students try to get an edge on their peers by earning extra certifications; I believe this is an excellent idea.
It can be difficult to differentiate oneself in a crowded job market. Employment can be scarce, especially during an economic downturn like the one we are currently experiencing. Anything that sets a new graduate apart from his or her peers is a welcome advantage, particularly if it’s a skill or trade that is in high demand.
Of course, there is a danger in spreading oneself too thin. Specializing in a specific area of work is the reason college majors and minors were created. One must be careful not to ignore one’s major or minor studies in pursuit of these

certifications.

to drive. Is this a blessing or a curse?
Some people think it is a problem that should be addressed. These same people believe that
Having more students on the road will cause more accidents, since these students are both inexperienced and reckless behind the wheel. In addition, these same people think that extra cars on the road will exacerbate the existing problem of automobile-generated pollution. However, there are others that believe that students ought to learn to drive, since it will teach them responsibility and awareness.
I agree with the latter. Learning to drive is a valuable skill that lasts a lifetime. Even if one does not purchase a car or drive on regularly, knowing how to drive can still be a valuable skill in emergency situations.

Students and Marriage
3
College students fall in love just like everybody else. Sometimes, these students feel so convinced of the permanence of their relationships that they decide to get married while still enrolled in university. This phenomenon has been fiercely debated in recent times.
Some people think it is perfectly okay for college students to get married. They’re old enough to understand the responsibilities that come with getting married. In China, most college students reach the legal age for marriage by the end of their sophomore or junior year anyway. In addition, college students often live together in their dormitories; for some people, getting married and living in one house or apartment is no different.
However, others think that getting married so young is a recipe for disaster. College students are too immature, they say. Their passion and excitement might make them think that marriage is a good idea, when I reality, it is a horrible blunder.
In this case, I have to agree with the second group. University-age students are simply too young to understand the ramifications of marriage. In fact, I believe that many adults don’t even recognize the responsibilities and challenges of the married life, let alone college students! Students really ought to wait before they decide to marry.

Students Going Abroad at a Younger Age
Studying abroad has long been an attractive option for university students. However, in recent years, students in high school or even middle school have been looking at studying abroad.
I believe there are two sides to this issue. On one hand, studying abroad, even at a young age, is a great way to learn new languages, investigate different cultures and improve one’s self-confidence and resourcefulness. On the other hand, studying abroad can be stressful and expensive; younger students might not be able to face these challenges because of their age and relative maturity.
I think the decision to study abroad is best left up to the individual. If a student truly believes he or she is mature enough and determined enough to study abroad, he or she should be permitted to do so. Even the youngest students can be resourceful and responsible enough to handle living and studying in a foreign country.

Online Education
In the last 15 years, the Internet has gone from being a groundbreaking technological innovation to an everyday tool that millions of people depend on. Accordingly, many students are now opting to take classes online. Precisely why has the option become so popular?
Learning online gives students flexibility; they can choose when they want to have class. Online courses are also incredibly convenient; since nearly everyone has a computer at home, online classes are available to a wide segment of society.
I believe this option has both positive and negative aspects. On one hand, the flexibility and availability are definitely an advantage. On the other hand, it is difficult to replace the face-to-face communication that takes place in a real classroom. I think the best thing to do is to combine both options and get the best of both worlds.
