TheHT761xisaCMOSLSIchipdesignedforuseinau-tomaticPIRlampcontrol.Itcanoperatewitha2-wireconfigurationfortriacapplicationsorwitha3-wirecon-figurationforrelayapplications.Thechipisequippedwithoperationalamplifiers,acomparator,timer,azerocrossingdetector,controlcircuit,avoltageregulator,asystemoscillator,andanoutputtimingoscillator.ItsPIRsensordetectsinfraredpowervariationsinducedbythemotionofahumanbodyandtransformsittoa

voltagevariation.IfthePIRoutputvoltagevariationcon-formstothecriteria(refertothefunctionaldescription),thelampisturnedonwithanadjustableduration.TheHT761xoffersthreeoperatingmodes(ON,AUTO,OFF)whichcanbesetthroughtheMODEpin.WhilethechipisworkingintheAUTOmodetheusercanoverrideitandswitchtotheTESTmode,ormanualONmode,orreturntotheAUTOmodebyswitchingthepowerswitch.

Within10secondsafterpower-on,effectiveZCswitchingwillforcethechiptoenterthetestmode.Duringthetestmode,theoutputswillbeactiveforadurationof2secondseachtimeavalidPIRtriggersignalisreceived.Ifatimeintervalexceeds32sec-ondswithoutavalidtriggerinput,thechipwillauto-maticallyentertheAUTOmode.

Power-onInitial

ThePIRsignalamplifierrequiresawarmupperiodafterpower-on.Theinputshouldbedisabledduringthisperiod.IntheAUTOmodewithinthefirst10secondsofpower-oninitialization,thechipallowsoverridecontroltoenterthetestmode.After40secondsoftheinitialtimethechipallowsoverridecontrolbetweenONandAUTO.Itwillremaininthewarmupperiodifthetotalini-tialtimehasnotelapsedafterreturningtoAUTO.IncasethattheZCsignaldisappearsformorethan3seconds,thechipwillrestarttheinitializationoperation.However,therestartinitialtimeisalways40secondsandcannotbeextendedbyaddingCRSTtotheRSTpinasshownintheFig.1.MaskOptions

TheHT761xoffersmaskoptionstoselecttheoutputflash(3times)whenchangingtheoperatingmode.Thechipwillflash3timesata1HzrateeachtimeitchangesfromAUTOtoanothermodeandflash3timesata2HzratewhenitreturnstotheAUTOmode.HoweverthechipwillnotflashifthemodeischangedbyswitchingtheMODEswitch.

·Optionsforeffectiveoverride:OnceortwiceOff/Onop-

WhenthechipisworkinginanAUTOmode(MODE=open),theoutputisactivatedbyavalidPIRtriggersignalandtheoutputactivedurationiscon-trolledbyanOSCDoscillatingperiod.Thelampcanbeswitchedalwaysto²ON²fromtheAUTOmodebyeitherswitchingtheMODEpintoVDDorswitchingtheZCsignalbyanOFF/ONoperationofthepowerswitch(OFF/ONonceortwicewithin3secondsbymaskoption).Theterm²override²referstothechangeofoperatingmodebyswitchingthepowerswitch.ThechipcanbetoggledfromONtoAUTObyanoverrideoperation.IfthechipisoverriddentoONandthereisnofurtheroverrideoperation,itwillauto-maticallyreturntoAUTOafteraninternalpresetONtimedurationhaselapsed.ThisoverrideONtimedu-rationis8hours.

Thechipprovidesamaskoptiontodeterminetheout-putflashtimes(3times)whenchangingtheoperatingmode.Itwillflash3timesata1HzrateeachtimethechipchangesfromanAUTOmodetoanothermodeorflash3timesata2HzratewhenreturningtotheAUTOmode.ButiftheAUTOmodeischangedbyswitchingtheMODEswitchitwillnotflash.RSTRSTisusedtoresetthechip.Itisinternalpull-highandactivelow.

TheuseofCRSTcanextendthepower-oninitialtime.IftheRSTpinisanopencircuit(withoutCRST),theinitialtimeisthedefault(40secs).
