Probability and Mathematics Statistics course is an important public basic course for undergraduate in each major and is one of the mathematics curriculums of compulsory in the National Graduate Entrance Examination. Probability theory is a mathematics discipline of studying of the quantitative relation of statistical regularity of random phenomena, while mathematical statistics based on Probability theory is a discipline which studies how to compile and analyze data of random influence effectively and makes statistical inference, forecasting, or decision-making. Risk theory is a theory that applies mathematical analysis to various risks faced by the insurance business, and provides technical support to analysis and control the risk effectively in the reality of insurance operations. This course mainly introduces the theory of loss distribution, short-term risk model, short-term aggregate risk model, long-term aggregate risk model, utility theory and decision making, stochastic simulation and so on.
Through this course, students are required to master the basic contents of some classic theories in the non-life insurance actuarial. Time Series Analysis is a branch of probability statistics that has strong application. It has wide application areas including financial and economic, meteorological and hydrological, signal processing, mechanical vibration and so on. The course is a methodology subject that to reflect and analyze quantitative characteristics and quantitative laws that reflecting and analyzing random process, and is a tool that must be mastered by probability statistics, financial mathematics students and researchers. Though the learning of this course, students can master basic concept and classification of time series, learn the steps of analysis and modeling method, and then master how to judge the model established whether fit to the original data and predictive value. Teachers can briefly introduced the basic idea of spectral analysis, help students to lay the foundation in order to make further studying relevant courses.
The main content of the course includes: the concept of time series, time series type, stationary series with non-stationary series, three stationary series features model stationary time series, stationary series mean and covariance estimates from the smooth sequence estimation of model parameters.

Multivariate Analysis is the main method in processing and analyzing of multivariate. This course is for students majored in economics and management, which is characterized not mainly on mathematical theory and derivation of multivariate, but rather on the description of each multivariate analysis of the basic principles and ideas and enable students to process and analyze multivariate data which based on the students understand the basic concepts and theories of multivariate statistics. The teaching objectives of this course are to enhance students’ hands-on problem-solving skills and learn handling multivariate data with statistical software.
This course contains two parts. Measure theory is an important branch of modern mathematics and the founder of this theory is the French mathematician Lebesgue (1875-1941). In 1930s, the theory of measure and integral was mature. The axiomatic system of probability theory was established by Kolmogorov in 1923, which laid the mathematical foundations of modern probability theory. This course introduces the basic theory of stochastic processes and some important class of stochastic process models and application background. Through this course, students will obtain basic knowledge of stochastic processes and basic computing skills. Meanwhile, the course will culture and train the ability of students using mathematics analyze and solve problems and expand the mathematical knowledge, as well as provide the necessary mathematical foundation to further learn relevant courses. Methods and Techniques of Economic Statistical Analysis course introduces the basic principles of applied statistics, while using statistical software, not only help students understand the basic theory of statistical analysis, but also help them make statistical analysis through the operation of statistical software. The focus of this course is to introduce the basic principles of each statistical analysis method, and not to explain its derivation. The purpose is that non-statistical majors students, after their studying, can make analysis of actual data by using software, in other word, students can grasp the content and methods of statistical analysis more comprehensive, and can use them into actual research.

SAS statistical software and applications is one of the required courses of the students who are major in Statistics and Mathematics Professional (Financial Mathematics direction). The feature of this course is that main content of it is not mathematical theory and the derivation. The course introduces the basic principles and ideas of statistical analysis based on the students’ understanding of the basic concepts and theories of statistics, and learns students how to deal with and analysis real data using statistical software SAS software. The course can enhance students’ ability of solving practical problems by themselves, and can help students master how to make a programming analysis.
