摘要：A coupler (10) for a rail wagon comprises a coupler body (12) that has a shank(14) and a head (16) located at an end of the shank. A coupler latch member (18) may bepivotally mounted to an end of the head via spaced opposing bearing lugs (45, 46) thatprotrude from an end of the head in a clevis configuration. The latch member (18) alsocomprises a protruding portion (21) for receipt in a recess (22) of the head. Theprotruding portion (21) comprises at least two adjacent projecting lugs (30, 32). Therecess (22) comprises at least two corresponding adjacent shoulders (37), (38) behindwhich each lug is located when the latch member protruding portion is received in thehead recess. An elongate lateral lug (34) may project to the side of the protrudingportion (21) in use, and the lateral lug may comprise an engagement surface that facesback to the latch member (18). In use, the lateral lug engagement surface can face acorresponding engagement face (36A) located within the head recess. The coupler (10)may also comprise a locking block (24) for location in the head recess (22) between thelatch member protruding portion (21) and the head (16). The locking block can restrainthe latch member (18) in a closed, latched position.
