摘要：A method of selecting a communication system (2, 4) for operating with acommunication device (100) during an idle mode of operation of the communicationdevice is described. The communication device (100) is capable of operating with at leasttwo communication systems. The method comprises determining (302, 304, 306) the onecommunication system of the at least two communication systems (2, 4) with which thecommunication device (100) has a smallest power consumption when operating in the idlemode of operation, and selecting the determined one communication system foroperation with the communication device during the idle mode of operation.
