Dear Jim,

I’m very glad to write the letter to you. You want to know how to learn Chinese well. I think the best way is to listen to the radio and watch Chinese-language TV programs. Besides this, you’d better do some reading and writing and speak Chinese as much as possible. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. You can learn it not only from books but also from the Chinese people all around you. They are all very helpful. Nothing is difficult if you put your heart into it. I’m sure you’ll learn Chinese well.

How I’ve changed!

My life on weekends has changed a lot in the past two months. You know I used to go

shopping with my mother, and I played sports with friends on weekends. But now I have no time to play. I have to go to school on weekends because we have many classes all day. At night, I used to watch TV, read a newspaper or a magazine and I could also chat online. Now, I feel stressed out. I have to do lots of homework. Sometimes I can only read comics. It is boring. I really miss the old days. 三、

Here is a survey of 100 students’ opinions on the schools rules. 40% of them agree to wear uniforms at school and 60 % think it unnecessary. 99% of the students say they should get to school on time, and only 1% of them think it’s hard to be on time each day. 78% agree that students are not allowed to take mobile phones while 22% disagree with this. 30% think that students shouldn’t wear long hair, but 70% think wearing long hair is OK. 95% agree that students shouldn’t smoke at school, and only 5% disagree with this rule.

If we moved to a new planet one day, I would choose to live near the sea. I would buy a big house with a garden and a swimming pool. I would live alone because I would like to be independent. But I would visit my family and stay with them on weekends. I would like to be a policeman so that I could help others. How would I travel from one place to another? Well, that would be the most interesting part. I would travel by spaceship and it would be exciting. I wish my dream could come true.

Hello, everyone. We are going to have a picnic at Xiangshan Park this Sunday. We’ll meet at the gate of the park at 8:30 am. Then we’ll begin to climb the mountain at about 9:00.
