For one thing, convenient as they are, disposable plastic bags are not suitable for effective recycling. 4Most bags go straight to the landfill垃圾, becoming the source of environment pollution. 5For another, plastic bag abuse has led to a serious waste of resources. 6In the long run, we human beings are bound to (必定) fall victim to this unwise practice.

7Luckily, China has launched a nationwide campaign against plastic bags before the situation reaches a point of no return. 8The ban on the use of those bags is undoubtedly of great significance. 9The withdrawal撤回 of plastic bags and a return to recyclable ones such as the cloth bags will help to cultivate a habit of recycling among people so as to sustain

resources. 10On the other hand, it is also a good approach to a decrease in pollution. 11By doing so, we can build an environment-friendly society. 1观察发现:共11句话:

3)Model Three: (08年1月):What Electives to Choose? Most universities provide for their students various electives ranging from classical music to modern economics. This practice, a good way to expand students’ horizons and allow them easy access to new fields, enjoys great popularity among students.

There is no doubt that different electives appeal to different groups of students. It all depends. Some of them choose to sit in a classical literature class or an oil painting

class out of interest. These courses are believed to help to fulfill their heart’s desire and contribute greatly to their well-rounded development. On the other hand, some electives concerning useful work skills are embraced包括, out of necessity, by students in large number. Their choice of electives cater to 适合,迎合 the needs of society. Such courses as computer and spoken English may equip them with necessary skills and help them hold superiority over others.

In my case, I tend to learn photography and French as well. The former is something I cherish a passion for while the latter is a useful skill to qualify myself for future work. These courses are bound to benefit both my academic life and my future career.

4)Model Four (07年6月):Welcome to Our Club

Welcome to the Cycling Club, a student club combining sports with social practice. Since its birth in 2000, a great variety of activities have been carried out. From cycling to the suburbs on weekends to going on expeditions by bicycle during long vacations, we enjoy the beauty of nature and make social investigations throughout the country.

Is cycling a single sport? Far from it, we firmly believe it

helps to develop our personality, team spirit and sense of responsibility in society. As a kind of sport, cycling contributes to our growth both physically and mentally. As a medium of communication, the club sees its members share hardship on the journey. As a carrier of culture, cycling provides us with opportunities to experience real life and engage ourselves in social activities. Small wonder our club has been enjoying increasing popularity on this campus. Come to join us in cycling and you’ll have a fantastic college life. Please feel free to contact us by calling 12345678 for your application. Terrific journeys are waiting for you. 5)Model Five (07年1月):Spring Festival Gala on CCTV Since its very advent出现, CCTV’s Spring Festival Gala has made every effort to present grand parties to its gigantic 巨大的audience with a galaxy大批 of stars and wonderful performances. It has become a custom for millions of Chinese people to sit through the variety show following the traditional family reunion feast. They simply cannot step into the new year without the gala, which seems as indispensable to the New Year’s Eve celebration as firecrackers.

With the passage of years, however, a growing number

of people begin to view the gala as “chicken rib”骨架, unappealing and worthless, when people can feast themselves on other evening entertainment. Some even throwing away the show, which fails to give its increasingly demanding and diverse不同的audience a convincing excuse to be rooted in the sofa and stay glued 似胶水粘住to the TV. To my eye, the existence of the gala is still justifiable. For one thing, with the variety show characteristics of Chinese tradition aired 播送both home and abroad, it provides the Chinese people, especially those overseas, with a good opportunity to establish their cultural identity on this unique evening. For instance, the gala, a rare occasion of gathering of those performers, is undoubtedly a treat for those in the remote or poverty-stricken areas.

6)Model Six (06年6月):On Students Selecting Lectures In recent years, students in some college are entitled to the choice of their lectures for certain courses. This practice has enjoyed great popularity since it was introduced.

When selecting teachers, most students will take the following factors into account. In the first place, lectures with impressive academic background and rich working experience are preferable because exposure to inspiring

lectures is a most rewarding experience. In the second place, teachers with a convincing and vivid teaching style are more likely to meet students’ taste. In one sense, it is not what is given in a lesson but how a lecture is delivered that really appeals to students.

Students’ free choice of lectures will bring with its both benefits and problems. On the one hand, this makes it possible that students have easy access to good teachers who may open a new horizon for them. On the other hand, good as the practice may be, chances are that some students will misuse the opportunity and select undemanding lecturers while some distinguished but strict teachers may be unwelcome. It will result in a waste of the teaching resources.

Unquestionably, this issue deserves further attention from both colleges and students. What they should do is to minimize the potential negative effects.
