摘要：This is a new way of manufacturing a flat rubber moulding, with projectionsunderneath. It forms an underlayer for a ballast bed. The elastic material of the mat isvulcanised in a hot panel moulding press, with a number of moulding cavities for theprojections. In the novel procedure, a fabric with open weave (15) is laid in the press,placing it onto that half of mould (13) with the moulding cavities (14). It covers the entirecavity over one stage of heating. A slab of raw rubber (17) is laid onto the fabric. Duringpress closure, the fabric becomes impregnated by the plasticised raw rubber. Air andother gases from the mould cavity are removed, passing through the fibres of the fabric,to the edge (16) of the mould. The fabric becomes embedded into the rubber moulding.
