摘要：An improved oxygen sensor of the type adapted for installation in the exhaustconduit of an internal combustion engine. The improved sensor uses a metal oxideelement to sense the partial pressure of oxygen in the exhaust gases to which the sensoris exposed. The sensor has a steel body and a ceramic member which extends into theexhaust gases to permit the exhaust gases to produce variations in an electricalcharacteristic of one of the sensor components. The improved sensor has a perforatedprotection tube (18) that has a radially extending flange (78). The flange (78) is locatedbetween the steel body (12) and the ceramic member (16), which forms a seal preventingexhaust gases from inside the engine's exhaust conduit from leaking beyond the sensorto the atmosphere.
